Click on Options and create a new profile. From the menu at the top, click on Game > Start at Single Player Menu. Now that you are in a lobby, click on "Quick Host" to host a game, and set the number of players to be 1 (not completely necessary, but this way nobody tries to join your game).
You will need to provide Voobly with %AoE2Root%/age2_x1/age2_x1.exe (which was provided by the aoccs compatibility patch) This will open up your Steam/steamapps/common/Age2HD folder, which I will now call %AoE2Root%. Navigate to Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files. If it can't find the game, from your Steam library, right click on Age of Empires II: HD Edition and click on Properties.
The Voobly client should automatically find the game installation and update the game with a userpatch do this. Then, open any one of the AoE 2 game lobbies, such as the New Player Lobby (NPL). Start Voobly and sign in with your account. This will not overwrite or destroy any files that AoE2 HD uses it simply adds folders and files. Download the userpatch from and run it. Install Voobly from if you haven't already. This Reddit thread gives detailed instructions on how to do it, but I will outline how to do it here, assuming you already have AoE2 HD installed on Steam: The version number changes depending on that, if you are on the 5.5 patch it will be 2.7.2 (required to play this rated).AoE2 HD can be played on Voobly, but you need to install the compatibility patch. on and old patch or a beta branch, it will use the changed balance of that. Note that this uses HD balance as your steam is set to during the installation. If you have any questions, please read the readme on the github page first to see if they are answered there. Installing it through the mod center like other data mods is not possible. "Download Now" will take you to the Github Page, where you can download the Zip of the installer, extract the zip into a folder and run the executable of the installer inside, which will give you some options to choose from (Hotkeys, language, etc.). This is done automatically and all versions you have access to will be installed. If you miss Rise of the Rajas, you do not have access to the full WololoKingdoms. If you are missing African Kingdoms, you will only have access to WololoKingdoms FE (regardless if you own Rise of the Rajas or not). There are three different versions of this mod: WololoKingdoms FE, WololoKingdoms AK and WololoKingdoms (the full version). If you do not own all expansions, you will be restricted in the civilizations you can choose. Without that, using this mod is not possible. You need to own at least the HD version with the "Forgotten Kingdoms" expansion on Steam and have it installed. You need to play this with Userpatch 1.5 (currently in beta). This mod allows you to play the HD expansions on Voobly.
